Mary J. Consiglio

Consiglio, Mary J. (née Merulla ), at the age of 90, went to be with God and join her parents (Joseph and Santa) and siblings (Josephine and Andrew) on October 8, 2017. Loving mother of Santa M.Consiglio ( Dr. Audrey Potter), Dr. MaryRose Consiglio (Dr. Thomas J. Sherman), Rosario J. Consiglio Jr. (Justine Consiglio), Paula A. Consiglio-Lubenow (Atty. Patrick J. Lubenow). Loving Nonna of Samuel, Joseph, & Andrew (Consiglio), and Andrea & John (Lubenow).

Mary, originally from Philadelphia, was the former wife of career navy and WWII veteran Rosario Consiglio Sr. She moved to Milwaukee with her husband and children in 1960. She raised her children, worked as an Avon Lady, was an accomplished Italian cook and took college classes. She was an active volunteer in Milwaukee at soup kitchens, veteran’s breakfasts, and thrift shops including Village of Manor Park and St. Camillus. She loved life and was dedicated to her family. She was kind and generous to everyone she knew. Her favorite rhyme: “Mary Mary you’re a wonder and when you are old and gray, we will all say yes by thunder she was some gal in her day!”

Please join Mary’s family as they “Celebrate her Life” on Saturday, November 25 at 2:00 p.m. at Northshore Funeral Services Chapel. Her family will greet friends following the service. Inurnment will be private.

  • This is my dear Aunt Mary. May you rest in peace. I was so happy to see you last year when I visited. I still keep your picture with Santa on my phone, so every time we talk I see your picture. You were a dear woman and always as sweet as you were kind.
