Elizabeth J. Philbin

Elizabeth J. Philbin, 94 passed away July 9, 2013 at Milwaukee Catholic Home. She was born in Muscatine, Iowa on October 23, 1923 to the late Lyle J. Fesler and Bessie D. Fesler.

Jean entered the Navy in 1943 where she met and married the late Morgan P. Philbin. They lived in Southern California and had nine children. Morgan died in 1965. Jean raised her children and moved to a farm in Wisconsin in 1967. She loved gardening, animals, needlework and art. She was able to take an Honor Flight to Washington DC in 2017.

She is survived by her nine children Robert (Carol) Philbin, Richard (Kathy) Philbin, Marilyn (Bill) Cook, Mary (Tom) Kelly, JoAnn (Dave) Philbin, Daniel (Ilene) Philbin, Michelle (Jeff) Philbin, Kathryn (Darin) Vincent, Dr. Michael (Theresa) Philbin; 21 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Vera Philbin. She was also proceeded in death by her five sisters: Marie Reed, Marjorie Walsh, Wilma Buline, Shirley Clausen, and Marilyn Eagle; an infant brother; and grandson Kelly Shawn Philbin

Jean has donated her body to UW Madison Medical School. Memorial Service will be held at a future date. Donations in her name can be made to Stars and Stripes Honor Flight Wisconsin, Milwaukee Catholic Home, or The Nature Conservancy.
