Kenneth Musche "Kenny"

Kenneth “Kenny” Musche passed away at home, in bed, on June 7, 2024, at the age of 97. He left this world in true “Kenny” fashion: with ease, grace and good humor. Those who knew Kenny can easily recall his warm and infectious smile. He was a faithful husband, a dedicated and conscientious worker, a good friend, a favorite uncle, a gentle and kind dog lover, and a wonderful surrogate grandfather. He was loved by all who knew him. Kenny enlisted in the Army when WWII was ending and was stationed in France. In addition to the usual ribbons, he received two medals: the Victory medal and the Army of Occupation medal. He was fond of telling stories of his Army days in France. It was obvious Corporal Kenneth Musche was very proud of his service. He often wore a WWII Veteran baseball cap to a restaurant or when he was out and about. In 1951, he married Joan Donnelly. They were married for 47 years. The two loved to travel together and visit friends and relatives. During Joan’s final illness, Kenny cared for her selflessly around the clock. She passed away in 1998. Kenny worked various odd jobs after his military service, but when he was employed at Milwaukee Chaplet (a metal stamping company), he found a home. He stayed there for over 30 years, where was a supervisor of shipping. He was esteemed and liked by all his co-workers. Kenny spent his retired years golfing, tending bar part-time, traveling, and religiously following his beloved Packers and Brewers. He owned many hats, shirts, and jackets with the Brewers’ and Packers’ logos. He had an encyclopedia-type mind of sports facts. It was incredible what he could remember. In 2005, after being a widower for 7 years, he sold his house and moved in with Trudy Synowicz (a widow of 15 years), who he had come to know when he was discharged from the army in the late 40’s. Trudy and Kenny’s wife Joan had been good friends since grammar school. Kenny and Trudy were together until the latter’s death in 2016. He helped Trudy’s son, Mike Synowicz, care for her for 18 months when she had a stroke. After Trudy passed, Kenny and Mike became best friends. Kenny easily fell into the role of surrogate grandfather for Mike’s children. Kenny was a major part of that family. Kenny was always physically fit. Before he joined the Army, he was a boxer with a winning record. He also played baseball and he regularly golfed. It was not uncommon for people to express disbelief when they learned he was over 90 years old. Everyone wanted to know his secret. Most of Kenny’s contemporaries are gone. Those who survive him are younger, often much younger. But it doesn’t matter how old one is, when the name “Kenny Musche” is mentioned, it always brings a smile.
