Obituary

July 22, 2010, age 85 years, Milwaukee resident. Beloved husband of Bette Robinson and the late Carolyn S. Robinson. Loving father of Timothy (Carol) Robinson, Elizabeth Fliss (Dan Rosario) and Edward (Bonnie) Robinson. Proud grandfather of Melissa (Robert) Davis, Ryan Schneider, Samantha, Genevieve and Kimberly Robinson. Great grandfather of Gabriel Pena, Jr., Kaylan Pena and Isabella Davis. Dear brother of Dr. George William (Norma) Robinson. Uncle of Lee (Kathy) and Carol Ann Robinson. Stepfather to Priscilla Smith, Pamela Smith, Roderick Smith, and Roger (Kavitha) Smith. Further survived by other family and friends.

Rich was raised in Cedar Falls, Iowa and after serving in the Pacific during WWII he attended Harvard University and obtained his Bachelor’s Degree. Following that he studied at the University of Chicago earning his Master of Arts Degree and completed his education with a law degree from the University of Wisconsin. After teaching at Todd School, he married his hometown sweetheart Carolyn in 1954 and moved to Milwaukee to pursue his legal career. In retirement he attended to his many interests including support for the World Federalist Movement and the United Nations. For many years he was a member of the United Methodist Church of Whitefish Bay, the Rotary Club of Milwaukee, and the Whitefish Bay Masonic Lodge. He was an avid reader, played chess and tennis relentlessly and never lost faith in his beloved Chicago Cubs.

Service & Reception Info
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 29, 2010 from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. followed by a memorial service in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit at Alexian Village, 9301 N. 76th Street. The family will greet friends at a reception following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Employee Appreciation Fund at Alexian Village of Milwaukee or a charity of your choice.
