September 28, 2010, age 77 years. Residence Milwaukee. Beloved husband of Patricia M “Pat” (nee Jensen) Ulman. Ted Ulman, a veteran of the Korean War, has been an active member of the Milwaukee community for over 20 years. After retiring from his career as an industrial engineering consultant, he became very active in the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UWM, as both learner and teacher. Most recently, he was preparing to facilitate his fourth class on the American Civil War. He spent this summer working full-time in the administrative offices of the 2010 Census Bureau; he said it made him feel young again. Ted was an avid cyclist, historian, and world traveler. He was loved for his generousity, curiosity, and signature quirks. Teddy died as he would have liked – riding his bike. He pulled over to the side of the road and was gone.
