Jerry Dean Parsons

Jerry Dean Parsons,78, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away on June 17, 2026 after a lengthy and brave battle with cancer. Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Christina, to whom he was a best friend, adventure partner, and soulmate. Their love was the foundation of his life, and she will forever cherish his memory. He is also survived by his beloved sisters, Vicky Young ( David) and Peggy Dunst (Dan) that he adored and a nephew and niece ,Luke and Jesse, and grand nephews, Johnnie, Dylan, and Jackson.He is deeply loved and missed. Jerry was proud to have been born in the small town of Sigourney, Iowa to Robert and Wanda Parsons. He attended school in Whitefish Bay where his father taught and coached. He was an athlete himself in track and basketball and had a lifelong passion and knowledge for any kind of sport, golf and fishing being highlights. Graduating from the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh with a degree in social work, he spent his career helping others. He worked as a social worker until his retirement. He leaves many close friends among the people he worked with. Jerry met and married his wife, Christina, during this time. They were happily and lovingly together for 47 years. Jerry was a true people person, an ambassador of good fun with an infectious smile. He was always the one to engage people and make friends. From school, college, work, neighborhood, and of course fishing and golf, he maintained lifelong friendships that he treasured. A waitress on a trip to Florida once remarked, “he don’t know no strangers, do he”, as she watched him stop and talk with the various tables of people in the restaurant. Walking one of his beloved sheepdogs barefoot around the block always meant stopping for conversation with neighbors. Someone once proclaimed him Mayor of Frederick Avenue as he made his rounds. Music was one of his very special interests. He was an avid collector with an ear for a wide range of musical styles. He kept up with the times but had detailed knowledge of music and songwriters.He and his wife, Chris, loved to go to concerts and smaller venues at every chance. A memorial for Jerry at Wolski’s Tavern is on Thursday, July 30th from 4-7. Family and friends are warmly invited to join us to share stories and laughter as we honor a life well lived.
