Judith Ellen Chavez

November 18, 2016, age 81 years. Residence Shorewood, Wisconsin. Judith (Judy) Ellen Chavez (nee Andrews) passed away peacefully on November 18th, 2016 at the age of 81. She was born to the late Carol R. Grass and Michael E. Andrews on March 6, 1935 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Beloved wife of Raul(Paul) Chavez. Loving mother of Monica (Ken) Kurszewski, Melissa (Thomas Hughes) Chavez-Hughes, Michael Chavez, Sr., Maureen (Herschel Kruger) Chavez-Kruger and Margaret (Anton) Salud. Proud grandmother of Patrick Mattefs, Carly Mattefs, Roxanne Marie Kruger, Henry David Kruger, Katie Chavez, Michael Paul Chavez, Jr., Isabelle Hughes, Sophia Kurszewski, Gabriel Salud, Ava Hughes and Alyssia Salud. Dear sister of Joanne (the late Frank) Hafner, Patti (Steve) Brink, Tom (Pam Grant) Andrews and the late Michael Andrews. Further survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Devoted wife, loving mother, nurturing grandmother, attentive sister, and respected friend. Anyone who was lucky enough to meet Judy knows what an amazing woman she was. She graduated from Riverside H.S. and received her nursing degree at Milwaukee Area Technical College. Judy carried out her nursing career at St. Joseph's and St. Francis Hospital. She was a dedicated nurse and truly passionate about caring for and helping others. Judy and Raul were also active parishioners of St. Bernadette's Church where the children attended school. She inspired others with the grace in which she lived her life and her ability to always smile and appreciate all that life offered. She enjoyed spending time with loved ones the most, but also enjoyed painting, reading, crossword puzzles, movies, traveling the world, gardening, sewing, to name a few. Judy's friends and family will miss her bright smile, contagious laughter and caring nature and will carry on her life legacy of laughter and love. Please join our family as we celebrate Judy's life on Friday, Nov. 25th from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Northshore Funeral Services, 3601 N. Oakland Ave, Shorewood 53211. There will be a Memorial Mass at St. Robert's Catholic Church, 2224 E. Capitol Drive, Shorewood, 53211 on Saturday, November 26th at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or Aurora Zilber Family Hospice.
