Lucien ("Luc") Xavier Alvarado

Lucien Xavier Alvarado ("Luc"), age 41, died on Wednesday, January 27th, 2021. Lucien was born July 5, 1979, to Joseph Alvarado and Barbara (née Hennig). Luc fought hard against the depression that afflicted him for several years. His life ended early Wednesday morning in one of his favorite places, Riverside Park. Lucien studied teaching at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and worked for Milwaukee Public Schools. He was an amazing teacher, cared deeply for every one of his students and made learning a joyous experience. We extend special thanks to Luc's dear friends, the Broderick family, and to Jason Blenkinsop, for their love and support of Luc. We also thank all the members of his "crew", too numerous to mention, and his many friends from Booth Street. Luc was a loyal friend of many. He would have done anything for them, and they for him. They often rode bikes together, exploring every corner of Riverwest and Lake Park. Luc was always the daredevil, the first to jump off cliffs at Redgranite and the last to call it a day. He was a soccer star in high school, where he met Janet, his first sweetheart, and lifelong friend. Luc was a passionate fisherman. Recently, he rediscovered his passion for art and made some unique pieces. He loved music, reading, and singing to his guitar. Luc was known to light up a room with stories and hilarious one-liners. He was a kind and loving son, a supportive big brother and a devoted teacher. He will be missed beyond words. Lucien is survived by parents Joseph (Nancy) Alvarado and Barbara (Richard) Kettner; brother Laurent (Sara Fahy) Alvarado and niece Eva Rose Alvarado; stepbrother Jon (Heather) Kettner; step nephew Taylor Bones; stepbrother Kris (Karen Goins) Kettner; step nephew Ramey Danger; aunt Carmen (Art) Baum; aunt Mary (Kirk Lundgren) Hennig; cousins Stefan and Catherine Lundgren; aunt Laura (Chuck Jackson) Lundgren; cousins Corey (Erin) Lundgren and Brenna, Ilah, and Asher Lundgren; cousins Eric (Amanda) Lundgren; cousins LeAnne (Matt) Meverden and Hayden and Harlen Meverden; aunt Maggie (Steve) Hennig; cousins Garrett and Maren Hennig; uncle Michael (Laurie) Hennig; cousins Curtis (Kyla) Hennig and Devon (Rob) Erbes; cousins Leo and Luna Erbes; uncle Thomas (Barb Leppke) Hennig; cousins Rui and Yi Leppke-Hennig; cousins Matt (Kate Evilsizer) Baum, Lucian and Cooper Baum; cousins Kevin (Arlene) Baum and Nicholas and Alexander Baum. Lucien was proceeded in death by grandparents Robert and Rudella Hennig, Joseph and Elizabeth Alvarado and uncles James and Steve Hennig. Visitation will be on Monday, February 1, from 4 to 7 p.m. with a service at 7:00 p.m. at Northshore Funeral Services, 3601 N. Oakland Ave., Shorewood, WI.
