Obituary

James John Hennes, affectionately known as, “Jim,” passed away peacefully on June 11, 2023. He was surrounded by the love and warmth of his family, bidding farewell to a life that touched so many.

Born on March 3, 1944, in Park Falls, Wisconsin, Jim was a remarkable individual who embraced life with passion, resilience, and a generous spirit. Throughout his 79 years, he made an indelible impact on the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Jim was a devoted family man, cherishing his role as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He held an unwavering commitment to his family, providing support, guidance, and unconditional love. His presence in our lives will forever be cherished and his legacy will continue to inspire and guide us.

Professionally, Jim excelled in the field of Mechanical Engineering. His dedication, expertise, and exceptional work ethic garnered the respect and admiration of his colleagues throughout his illustrious career. He was known for his integrity, creativity, and problem-solving skills, leaving an unforgettable mark on the Engineering industry he served.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, he had a curiosity for knowledge, but even more so enjoyed teaching this newfound knowledge to his family and friends. He had a helper’s spirit unlike no other. Loving the simple things in life, he enjoyed visiting with family, a good joke, taking care of his many dogs throughout the years, watching an old Western TV show, and of course, tearing up during Hallmark Channel movies.

Remembered for his gentle heart and infectious sense of humor, Jim had a unique ability to uplift those around him. His compassionate nature touched countless lives, and his selflessness served as an inspiration to all.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Victoria Giaimo Hennes, and his son, John Andrew Hennes.

He is survived by his children Debra Hennes and Robert (Natalie) Hennes, and four grandchildren: Derek, Danielle, Samantha, and Marjorie (“Maggie”). He is also mourned by his extended family, dear friends, and all those who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.

A memorial service to celebrate James Hennes’ life will be held at Three Holy Women, Holy Rosary Parish, located at 2011 N. Oakland Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53202 on Saturday, July 8th at 12:00 P.M. Friends and family are invited to come together at Holy Rosary Parish starting at 10:30 A.M. to share stories, reminisce, and find solace in each other's presence until the time of the mass.

The Hennes family wishes to express our deep appreciation to the physician and nursing staff on the 7th and 8th floors of the Center for Advanced Care department at Froedtert Hospital for their dedication and compassionate care. We especially want to thank Dr. Su and Dr. Michaels for their unwavering support and empathy.

All services arranged by Northshore Funeral Services, Shorewood, WI. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, a cause close to Jim’s heart.

“Though we grieve your absence, your spirit shall forever guide us.”

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” (Matthew 5:4)
