Richard A. Klaesing

1935 ~ 2021 (age 85)


Richard A. Klaesing born to life June 12, 1935. Born to Eternal Life March 18, 2021 at age 85, after battling many years of Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and Dementia. He resided in a memory care home in South Milwaukee for the last five years.

Beloved husband of Bertha (née Varichak) Klaesing married in May 1957. Loving father of Kim Klaesing Azzarello. Dear brother of Beverly Jarke, Kathy Priest and Bill Klaesing. Proud grandfather of Luciana (Kevin) Fitzgerald and Sofia (Daniel) Corcoran. Proudest great grandfather of Rosalia Fitzgerald. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

He grew up in Greendale, and lived in Bay View with his wife Bertha and daughter Kim. Throughout his life and faith, he always put others’ needs before himself – whether in his profession or personal life.

As a young man he traveled to other countries as an Eagle Scout. That led him to serve in the Army as a sharp shooter and system’s tech analyst. He served his country from October 8, 1954 to September 28, 1956. Richard’s careers were also multi-faceted. He was a writer/editor for a small local newspaper; he attended Nashotah House for accreditations’ so he could serve communion and perform other ceremonial needs at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Bay View. He was an Auxiliary Merchant’s Police Officer that worked events in the area. And for his last 37 years, he was a Massage Therapist at Hawthorne Terrace.

His love for animals and nature was embellished by many family camping trips, playing golf, fishing, visiting parks, and riding his motorcycle.

His kindness, gentle heart, caring nature, and his sense of humor will be forever remembered.
