Robert E. (Bob) Anthony passed away peacefully at age 97 on August 1, 2022. Survived by Shirley, his wife of 62 years, son Bruce (Julie), daughter-in-law Heather and grandchildren Alex, Eric, Lydia and Emily. Preceded in death by his son Jeffrey in 2018. Further survived by several caring nieces and nephews.
Bob was born in Columbus, Ohio the son of Harry L. and Laura B. Anthony. After high school, Bob served in the Army Air Forces in World War II and then returned to Columbus. He earned an undergraduate and master’s degree from Ohio State University and then began a life-long career with the United Way.
Longtime residents of Whitefish Bay, Bob and Shirley were dedicated members of North Shore Presbyterian Church for over 58 years. Bob and Shirley also spent many years together in their Door County home they built after retirement.
Bob generously dedicated his time and talents to his non-profit career and many charitable organizations in the Milwaukee area.
Bob was a dedicated husband, father and Papa to Alex, Eric, Lydia and Emily. His love and pride of his family was obvious to all and he truly loved spending countless hours at sporting events and school activities for his four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday September 2, 2022 at 10:30 AM at North Shore Presbyterian Church in Shorewood.
