Russell was born in Marquette, Michigan. He joined the Army at the age of 17 and served his country during the Korean War. He later migrated to Milwaukee, WI where he met the love of his life Jean. The night he met Jean he told his parents that night he was going to marry her and six weeks later they were married for 30 years. In the late1960's Russell worked for Curtis Ambulance Service and in the early 1970's he began working for Kohl's Food Store where he found his beloved work family . He drove semi and delivered food throughout Wisconsin for 30 years and earned three "Million Mile" buckles for safe driving. He was also a proud member of the Teamsters Local 200.
Russell had a strong relationship with Christ. He loved his family, friends and the stranger on the street. He was kind and a generous man to a fault. He was an avid artist and drew horses and cowboys. Many local restaurants were gifted with his drawings on napkins. He loved the "Old West" and was a true cowboy. He had a passion and kindred spirit with the Native American culture and with horses. He longed to live on a ranch in Wyoming raising horses. Russell also played the guitar and liked to play "Walk the Line" by Johnny Cash.
The family would like to thank Bob Lasardi who put up with dad for 40 years! He helped and supported Russ and his family during his battle with Pancreatic cancer. We would also like to thank Ascension Hospice and A Plus Just Like Family in Racine for caring for dad.
You will be missed Dad!
